Hello Parents,

As you know Reagan Academy is an accredited school through AdvancED (formerly Northwest Accreditation).  This past year legislation was passed that no longer required charter schools to obtain accreditation but we feel that the process is an important way for us to continue to provide the best education available to your students.  Because of this, we will continue to re-certify our accreditation every year.  One part of the process is to administer a parent survey and participate in an analysis of the results with the folks from AdvancED.   If you could take a moment before Christmas and fill out this survey we would appreciate it.  As always if you have concerns or questions about your child’s education please stop in and visit with our top notch teachers or with me and Mr. Riggs.   Thank you for trusting us with your child’s education.  We care about them and are committed to their success.

Christmas Giving Trees

Each teacher in grades K-6 will have a tree on or near their classroom door. Trees for middle school and specialty teachers will be in the main lobby. Trees will be covered with ornaments listing items that the teacher could use in the classroom. Participation is optional.

Attention Synergy Fans:

Synergy is a cello band that started with four students, right here at Reagan Academy under Mrs. Ahlborn’s direction. In fact, the cellists from Synergy can sometimes still be found at Reagan Academy helping Mrs. Ahlborn teach orchestra students in the 5th grade. We are proud of our alumni and want to share some great news with those who express continued interest in the band.

Synergy has been selected to compete in the Velour Battle of the Bands competition. The Velour is the place where Imagine Dragons and Neon Trees were recently “discovered” so it is a big deal for the boys to play there. For the competition, the Velour has asked that we bring as many older fans as possible to see our band play (middle school – adults). If you are available, please come support these talented Reagan Academy Alumni as they compete on Thursday, December 12th. Synergy is the first of four bands that will perform that night. They play from 8:30-8:55. The Velour is located at 135 North University Avenue in Provo. Doors open at 8 p.m. and the cost is $6. The Velour encourages supporters to stay for all four bands, if possible.

Also, Synergy has just released their debut album. If you are interested in more information, please contact Mrs. Peterson in the library.
