SEP’S – New Schedule – Early Dismissal on Thursday and Friday
We have decided to try a modified schedule for SEP’s. Here are the details:
-SEP’s will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 2nd from 4:00-8:00 p.m. and Thursday, Oct 3rd from 2:00-6:00 p.m.
-There will be an assembly from 6:00-6:30 on Thursday, where we will be presenting “R”’s for the Reagan wall to both parents and teachers (including Teacher of the Year).
-Both Thursday and Friday school will dismiss at 1:00 p.m.
-All teachers, including Middle School, will hold SEP’s in their own classrooms. It will be open house style, without scheduled appointments.
Don’t forget that picture day is TODAY! Your student should have brought home the form/envelope for purchasing pictures. If you chose not to purchase pictures, but still want your student to be included in the homeroom composition (or ID for middle school) you will still need to fill out the first part of the form. For extras, please see the front desk in the morning.
SEPs are coming up and we like to provide dinner for our fabulous teachers as the prep for meeting our Reagan parents….and we need your help! Please take a look at the form at http://tinyurl.com/k9d4dgd and see if there is something there you can help provide!
And, as always, providing food or cooking is a great way to earn hours toward your 40 Volunteer Hours for the 2013-2014 school year! Did you know that for every $5 spent, you earn 1 hours of volunteer time!? It’s true! So, after you sign up and do your shopping, go to http://tinyurl.com/kgwsysb to log in your time!

It is hard to believe that mid-term and parent teacher conferences are upon us. We are excited to announce a change in how we will host our SEP’s (parent-teacher conferences) this time. We have taken feedback from families and teachers to put together something that we think will maximize everyone’s time and promote partnership. As we try this out, please give us your feedback so that we can decide whether or not we want to continue with it going forward. Here are the details:
-SEP’s Wednesday Oct. 2nd from 4:00-8:00 PM (No Meetings Between 5:30-6:00 for Teacher Dinner) and Thursday Oct. 3rd from 2:00-6:00 PM
-All teachers will be in their own classrooms and there are no pre-scheduled times (open house style)
-Early out dismissal on both Thursday and Friday at 1:00 PM
-Each student will receive a progress report the Monday before that will list their grades and which teachers they have for which subjects. This will help guide parents in their planning for who to see on the night the come for SEP’s. We will also have staff that night to help find teachers for parents who get confused.
Let us know how you like it!

Dear Parents,
Children need healthy meals to learn, and Reagan Academy offers healthy meals every school day. Your children may qualify for free or reduced price meals. Have you filled out your free/reduced application yet? You can pick one up at the office.
• Who can get free/reduced meals?
o Students can get free/reduced meals if your household income is within the limits of the Federal Income Guidelines listed on the application. Income limits have changes. If you didn’t qualify before, you may now.
• Do I need to fill out an application for each child?
o No. Complete one free/reduced price application for all students in your household. We cannot approve an application that is not complete, so be sure to fill out all the required information.
• What if my income is not always the same?
o List the amount that you normally get.
• If I don’t qualify now, may I apply later?
o Yes. You may apply at any time during the school year. If your household size changes, you lose your job, income goes down, etc. – re-apply.
• My student’s application was approved last year. Do I need to fill out another one?
o Yes.
2013-2014 School Year Full Meal Prices: $2.10 – students, $2.75 – parents/adults
Dear Parents,
We want to inform you about a fun opportunity for your budding athletes. BYU is hosting their annual 1 mile elementary school race for K-6th graders this Wednesday around 5pm. Pre-register online as a student at Reagan Academy to find the start time for your child’s race. http://www.byutrack.com/various/Special/Meet_Info/2013-14/Triple/elem_races-13.htm
This is a fun event where children will have opportunities to associate with top-ranked collegiate athletes. BYU’s Cross Country team hosts the event. (The men are currently ranked 4th in the nation and the women are consistently top-ranked as well.) Feel free to wear a Reagan Academy t-shirt at the race. You will still have time to skate if you choose to race on Wednesday.
