Lunch Room Changes

School Year 2013-2014

Dear Parents and Students,
We are excited to be working with you this school year! We have a variety of changes coming to our lunch room that we would like you to know about.

-A fresh fruit and vegetable bar will be available Monday-Friday so that there will be a variety of choices for you to pick from. The FF/FV Bar will also include sub sandwich toppings such as lettuce, onions, and tomatoes to dress up your sub sandwich, and a variety of salad bar toppings to customize your salad.

-Three main dish choices for all grades Monday-Thursday. The choices will vary from fruit/yogurt parfaits, hot lunch items, sub sandwiches, and salads for every grade. Fridays will only have two choices due to the short schedule that day.

-We will be continuing the Universal Breakfast Program so that every student can get a nutritious meal to start their day.

We would also like you to be aware of the following information for this coming school year.
-Lunch is $2.10 for students, $0.40 for reduced, and $2.75 for faculty and visitors.
-Breakfast is FREE for all students K-8, and $1.50 for faculty and visitors.
-We are now accepting free/reduced applications. You can find those forms under the Lunch Program section of Reagan’s website. Completed forms may be emailed to , faxed to 801-489-1154, or dropped off at the front desk. Please return them now, if you would like them to be processed before school starts.

Thank you for letting us serve your child/children, and please stop by the lunchroom on Back to School Night to discuss questions you may have about our breakfast program, the lunch program, or applications.

Summer 2013 Updates

Another “blink and you’ve missed it” summer is flying by. Can you believe that school starts in short 4 weeks! We hope that you and your children are enjoying your summer break and that you can make the most of what is left of it. In the meantime, here are a few tips to help ease the transition back to a school schedule:

1) Spend some time each day reading to your child or giving them mathematical problems to solve.

2) Take your child “back to school” shopping. Supply lists for each teacher are available in the quick links portion of our website.

3) Come down and visit the school. Our office is open most Tuesdays until 12:00. This is also a great time to visit the school library. Whether you are trying to drag out the last 4 weeks as long as you can or counting down the minutes until school starts again, we hope that you enjoy the time. We look forward to seeing you.

As you may know, 6th grade students this year will be experiencing some exciting changes. We want to thank all the parents, students, and teachers who have given input and participated in meetings to help us craft what will be a phenomenal educational experience. This year 6th graders will rotate through classes in a similar way to the students in 7th and 8th grade. In fact, we want the 6th grade year to be a transitional year between elementary and middle school. Other things that you can look forward to included the possibility of having a locker, participating in the middle school dress code, and taking some introductory elective classes offered by the 6th grade team. The teachers for 6th grade this year will include:

Mrs. Benson – Science, Technology & Success Skills

Ms. Hazen – Math & Social Studies

Ms. Rigby – Reading & Writing

Be sure to let us know if you have any questions or concerns, we look forward to partnering with you to give your child the best education they can receive.
