Character Casual Day: Diligence & Citizenship, Dark Blue
Reagan Academy students exemplify character. Each month they can represent the chosen character trait by wearing a colored clothing item of a specified color. All Reagan students may wear anything that falls within the Reagan Academy casual dress guidelines as long as their clothes contain the character color. If students are not in uniform they should be wearing at least one item of clothing that is mostly dark blue. This item should be easily visible. For example, students cannot simply wear a dark blue headband.

January: Diligence & Citizenship = Dark Blue
February: Loyalty = Yellow
March: Respect = Orange
April: Hope = White (April 12th; 2nd Friday of the month due to Spring Break)
May: Heroism & Courage = Red

Reagan Casual Day Rules
Students may wear clothes and accessories of their own choosing as long as they meet Reagan Academy’s dress guidelines. As always, please remember that on non-uniform days, general guidelines still apply, though students are not required to wear designated uniform items. Jeans are allowed. Please refer to the handbook for a complete listing. The following items are not allowed:
Pajamas
Clothing with holes, tears, or stains
Spaghetti strap, or midriff tops
Clothing with vulgar, sexual, or profane words, phrases or images
No face paint or hair color
Open toe or heel shoes
Socks or stockings must be worn

Keyboarding Practice

A MESSAGE FROM THE LIBRARY

Hello Parents,

Please encourage your children to practice their keyboarding skills over the holiday break.  Remember, to access Typing Agent you can go to this link:  https://typingagent.com/login/?  The username is your student’s lunch number followed by @reaga12 (for example: 59435@reaga12).  The password is your child’s last name – be sure to capitalize the first letter.  The Typing Agent website can also be accessed through the Reagan Academy Webpage under “Quick Links.”

Also, to find other typing websites that students can use to practice, please go to this link:  http://sciencespot.net/Pages/kdztech.html

Please remind your students to use proper finger positions and keystrokes.

Thank you,
Tina Peterson

Volunteer Opportunity: Capri Suns

Parents, we are looking for a parent volunteer who is able to run the Capri Suns Rewards Program. This volunteer will need to empty the Capri Suns collection box from the lunchroom twice a week, fill out the form and send the pouches in to the company to collect fundraising while we recycle. All time spent while collecting and preparing the pouches go towards your volunteer hours. This is a great way to earn volunteer hours while working at-home (other than grabbing the box from school) Please send an email to pvo@reaganacademy.org.

Thank you!

Classroom Giving Trees

As an optional activity for students who want to give gifts to their teachers, the PVO is organizing an ornament/fundraising activity. If your child brings home an ornament and you do not wish to participate, simply return the ornament to your teacher’s tree. Children will be instructed to take the ornaments only with your permission.

Each teacher in grades K-6 will have a tree on or near their classroom door. Trees for middle school and specialty teachers will be in the main lobby. Trees will be covered with ornaments listing items that the teacher could use in the classroom. Students can choose an ornament from the tree and purchase the item listed as a holiday gift for their teachers. Thank you and happy holidays!
